What's stopping the merger between XM and Sirius?

July 25th, 2008 Receive FCC approval On July 25th, 2008 The FCC approved the merger voting 3-2 down party lines.

Close transaction date pending.

What else needs to happen for the transaction to be complete?|||Political groups paid by the broadcast lobby is getting regulators to gum up the works for what is little more than open bribes of getting top jobs with them or even "Campaign donations".|||There were some anti-trust worries about such an arrangement, and I believe both sides will have to pay some fines and work out some programming considerations in order to make it complete. But it will happen.|||The broadcast stations don't want it, and they are doing everything possible to prevent the merger.|||According the news i heard last night, it's a done deal. Probably not signed and sealed yet...but very close
