Transaction posts???

what is the difference between transaction date and transaction post date? What if the transaction post date is before the transaction date? This is for a credit card statement.|||The transaction date is the date on which you make the purchase or sale. The transaction post date is the date on which the credit card company or bank enters your sale or purchase into your account. If you have a transaction post date prior to a transaction date then "Baby, Youses Gots Problems!!" Should never happen.|||The poster that stated that a post dated check cannot be debited from your account until the future date is wrong. If you let a check out of your hand it can be deposited and sent to your bank for payment. I used to work in bank finance.

|||Well, my guess is that transaction date is the date you used the card to spend the money and the transaction post date is the date it will post/be charged to your creditcard. Like when you "postdate" a check, thats when you write a future date on your check and it can't be cashed until then.
