What does a gas transaction look like on a credit/debit card history?

I was recently on a trip. I had my fathers card he gave me to use for gas. When buying gas at the pump with a card I know it takes a while to go through. But what comes up on the bill or transaction history? I know it says the date of the transaction and the amount of money. But does it list the location of the gas station and what time it took place?|||Yes, it may list the location. Not sure about the time. It will also say what gas station you bought gas from.

Why? What are you trying to hide from your dad? Did you take a detour on your trip and go where he wouldn't approve?|||My credit card statement shows the transaction date, posting date (date it was processed), name of the gas station or store, the store number, store location (city, state) , and amount charged. It does not post the time of the transaction or a breakdown of what was purchased. It would not say if you bought gum vs. gas, for example.|||The statement will not show when and where - just the name of the place (as it is listed with their credit card processor) and the amount. Your father can call his credit card company and they will be able to say what location and what time. What they will not be abe to see is what was purchased without some type of investigation. In other words if there was a challenge on the charge, the transaction could be located and the actual items purchased could be found out. It would require work on behalf of the merchant and the credit card company so client curiosity would probably not be enough to have the credit card company look into what was actually purchased.
